Since the beginning of the worldwide AIDS epidemic in 1981, AIDS has killed six times the number of people who died in the Vietnam War. AIDS has affected nearly all of us. It is the number one killer of people between the ages of 22 and 45. With your support and the support of others, I hope to make more people aware of the severity of this disease, and provide help to those who are ill and in desperate need of care and intervention. |

| For four days in late June, I'll trade in my keyboard and mouse for a bicycle seat. |

I will embark on an important and powerful trip to help raise money To Fight The Battle Against Aids. With over 3,000 other riders, I will bike from Raleigh, NC to Washington D.C. in the 6th annual D.C. AIDSRide. "A journey of a thousand miles {well, 330} begins with but a single step {ok, turn of the cranks}." |
|
I bought a road bike and started my training the beginning of February. I will continue to train until the ride. Not only has training been a physical challenge, it has also been a time and financial commitment. However, I feel money I will raise for this cause and my experiences on the ride will be well worth the sacrifices made. |

We're riding to raise money for HIV/AIDS-related services and prevention programs. Together, we hope to raise $6.5 million dollars. My personal obligation is to raise at least $2,400 in donations. I hope to surpass that minimum. My goal is $5,000. |
|
I
have between now and the beginning of the
ride on June 21st
to fulfill my commitment. I feel very strongly about this event, but I
need your support.

I would appreciate your assistance in helping me fulfill my goal. I know that everyone can pledge only a certain amount, so designate the amount that is right for you. "One person can make a difference, and every person should try." John F. Kennedy |
